Liposuction Surgery - How to Shed That Extra Fat

As more and more people work hard towards getting rid of the excess fat there are many surgical options available and one of them is liposuction.

A lot of people work hard to lose weight and mostly they turn to either exercise or dieting. Both definitely help in melting away the fat but there are some areas in the body where the excess fat is tough to shed . It is these areas where liposuction helps a lot . The basic liposuction procedure involves taking out the fat cells which cause the shape of the body to change. Without the help of liposuction burning of the fat requires excessive and disciplined exercising. Most people are not able to do that because of lack of time or because they are advised by the doctor not to do heavy exercises.

Liposuction will get rid of the excess bulges and fat handles all around the body. The popular misconception is that only the stomach area can be effectively reduced with liposuction. This is entirely wrong as liposuction can help reduce fat cells around the waist, abdomen, thighs, hips and back. In some cases it is also used to reduce the heavy breasts that some women have. Liposuction is usually done in multiple stages if the patient is grossly overweight.

For best results the skin of the patient has to be very elastic otherwise there is a danger that the skin will start sagging once the excess fat has been removed. Also your surgeon should be able to tell you what is possible based on your skin condition and your weight.Liposuction is done by making an incision and very small amounts of fat are removed along the line where the incision is made. Then to stop the bleeding a solution is injected in the area. That solution helps in fat extraction. The fat is removed by using a rounded metal object called the cannula. The surgeon will usually make sure that it does not hit the nerves and blood vessels. Based on this it becomes highly important that you select a very qualified surgeon to do the liposuction.

Nowadays there are non-surgical liposuction procedures available where the vibration is used to melt the fat away. So make sure that you know everything about liposuction and select the best liposuction surgeon in your area for that very important surgery.Make sure to improve your eating habits after liposuction is done to stay in shape.

Are You Worried Your Skin is Aging You?

No matter what age you are, the health of your skin can age you. It can make you appear younger or older than you really are. Today, men and women are experimenting with various ways to look younger.

There are two ways to determine the age of a person. We all have a chronological age and a biological age. The chronological age is how many years old you are. The biological age is how healthy or unhealthy you are.

You may have been born thirty five years ago, but due to not taking care of your health, biologically you may be fifty five and look it.

Many women go under the knife or get Botox injections to help appear younger and fight the natural aging process. To tell the truth, I haven't seen one person that looked fabulous and appeared natural with plastic surgery or Botox.

Most that have had plastic surgery or had Botox injections either appear like they have, or think they just need one more of either form of treatment to look better. It is sad and almost reminds me of the children's story "The Emperor's New Clothes".

In this fable, as summarized in Wikipedia, an emperor who cares too much about clothes hires two crooks who promise him the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. This cloth, they tell him, is invisible to anyone who was either stupid or unfit for his position. The Emperor cannot see the (non-existent) cloth, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing stupid; his ministers do the same. Everyone pretends that the king's clothes look very royal but everyone knows he is naked, but don't dare tell him.

I have seen even wives of plastic surgeons who look totally 'different', yet not younger looking after surgery or Botox injections. I wonder if anyone dares tell them how they really look. Many women continue to re-inject Botox although their lips and face look puffy.

Another important fact to consider is that we have no idea at this point, what the health consequences are of the multiple Botox type of injections over many years.
So why do so many women spend millions of dollars on plastic surgery or Botox injections?

Obviously the many skin care products in infomercials that promise the fountain of youth from their actress or model peddlers must not be providing the needed results.

The enemies to healthy skin are the following:

  • Excessive alcohol dries the skin, takes over your mind and body.
  • Tobacco fills your lungs with smoke from cigarettes or 2nd hand smoke, is obviously the opposite of breathing fresh air that bathes the tissues with needed clean oxygen.
  • Sun exposure without adequate protection also dries and robs the skin of collagen and elasticity. We do need the sun for Vitamin D, but to prevent over exposure damage, early morning for about ten or fifteen minutes is all you need.
  • Stress is a quick route to aging. Balance between fun and work is important to a younger biological you.
  • Poor diet and nutrition high in sugar and junk food is certainly not healthy for skin.
  • Harsh, toxic ingredients in skin care products and cosmetics can also contribute to robbing the skin of elasticity and aging you.

In summary, use common sense and moderation in food and drink with the focus being on fruits and vegetables.

With skin care products, become educated and choose products with natural and safe ingredients such as Shea butter and antioxidants free of toxic ingredients.

Bad Plastic Surgery - How Much Damage A Bad Plastic Surgery Can Cause And How To Avoid It

Cosmetic surgery is very popular. Tens of thousands surgeries are performed each and every year. Rhinoplasty, liposuction, face lifts are just a few of them. Not all surgeries are successful. Often plastic surgery is performed by surgeons who are not qualified enough for the job.

It is not required that a physician has a special education to do cosmetic surgery. There are weekend seminars where you can 'learn' how to do liposuction and other cosmetic procedures. On Monday this doctor could make a surgery he never did before.

Just recently I saw a report in television where a dentist performed a liposuction on a 40 year old woman. This dentist was already known for his bad plastic surgery results. His work was horrible. But he is still in business. The authorities do not do anything against it.

When a surgery goes wrong then usually because of errors in the surgical process. A bad surgery can cause asymmetry, nerve damage, tightness, loss of sensation, deformation, paralysis and more. If you are lucky and enough tissue is left, a good surgeon might be able to reverse some of the damage. But even bigger is often the psychological damage for the patient which can last for the rest of your life.

To avoid bad cosmetic surgery it is absolutely mandatory that you screen your doctor carefully. Never ever choose a surgeon that has less than one year experience. Ask the doctor for testimonials which you can verify. Ask when and where he had his education and training for cosmetic surgery techniques.

Do not rely on his words only, you need proof. Do not forget that cosmetic surgery is a highly profitable business. There are even people offering these surgeries who are not even physicians.
